Q&A

Requests for OEM Cosmetics - Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What kind of products do you offer?

With over 120 years of experience in the development and manufacture of cosmetic products, Cosmetec Japan uses its considerable knowledge and know-how of this field to provide customers with a wide range of OEM products, from basic skincare, make-up and hair care products, to fragrances and quasi-drugs. The company prides itself on providing products that are backed by a high degree of added value and creativity.

Q2.Do you offer product planning and marketing consultation services?

Cosmetec Japan is fully adept at providing its customers with a comprehensive consulting service. This involves initially listening to your needs and developing a concept that is aimed at your target customers, before providing each client company with a fully thought out product planning strategy. Where necessary, Cosmetec Japan can also carry out marketing research on behalf of our client companies.

Q3.How about product design?

Cosmetec Japan can take care of all your requirements in this area, from developing a unique brand name and logo, to designing containers and packaging for your products. We can also implement and make use of any existing design that your company has already drawn up.

Q4.Do you have a minimum order requirement?

We generally require a minimum lot order of 3000 units for providing a product that requires original printing work for the container design. (Dependant on overall cost, please contact us in the event of having smaller requirements.)

Q5.How much do your services cost?

Costs are dependant on a range of different factors, including product specifications and lot size, and we can provide an estimate following an initial consultation to determine your requirements. Cosmetec Japan only provides an estimate after obtaining an idea of its customers' requirements for their product in terms of quantity and pricing.

Q6.Do you charge any development-related costs?

In principle, Cosmetec Japan does not charge for producing trial samples of your product. We will ensure that your company is provided with a detailed estimate prior to any design or printing work taking place.

Q7.What is the time frame leading up to product commercialization?

Following determination of the specific formula to be used, we generally require a further three months prior to commercialization to carry out confirmation of formula stability, stability of container, and overall product safety.
*Quasi-drug development requires a separate drug application period.

Q8.How long does it take to provide a trial sample?

This takes approximately two to three weeks, depending on the content of the request.

Q9.Can you combine our requested ingredients?

Cosmetec Japan only develops our own original formulas, meaning that we can provide you with combinations that are safe and secure.
